Expert guide

Everything you need to turn your expertise into booked, paid sessions — from setting up your page to getting money in your bank account. Most experts are live in about ten minutes.

1. Create your booking page

Sign up with your name, email, and business name — for example Gordon Consulting Partners. You get a personal booking page at a link like expert.com.jm/p/your-name that's live from day one — no subscription required to start taking bookings.

Add a short bio, your parish, and the categories you work in so the right clients find you. One thing to do before you can take bookings: add your bank account (step 9) — that's where your earnings go, so your page stays offline until it's in.

2. Add your services

A service is anything a client can book and pay for — a haircut, a manicure, a car detail, a 1-on-1 strategy session, a tutoring block. For each one you set a name, duration, price in JMD, and where it happens:

  • Video call — held in the built-in call room (or a Google Meet link if you've connected Google).
  • External link — you provide your own Zoom/Meet link.
  • In person — meet at an agreed location. You can take a non-refundable booking deposit online and settle the balance in cash on the day.

In-person services are reviewed before they go live.Because they put you and a client in the same place, our team gives each one a quick check first — you'll see an “Awaiting review” badge until it's approved. Online services go live right away.

Tip: mark a service unlisted to keep it off your main page while still sharing it by its own direct link.

3. Set your availability

Availability lives in reusable calendars (for example Weekday Mornings). Set your weekly hours once, then point any service at the calendar that applies. Block one-off dates like public holidays, and clients only ever see the times you're genuinely free.

4. Sync Google Calendar (optional)

Connect Google Calendar and two things happen automatically: your outside events block off those times so nobody double-books you, and every confirmed booking is written onto your calendar — with a Google Meet link generated for video calls. Connect it under Settings.

5. How you get paid

Clients pay instantly in JMD when they book. You always receive the price you set — the fees below never come out of your headline price by surprise.

Free plan

Your page works fully. A platform fee of 8% comes out of each payout — and it's always capped, so you never pay more than $500.00 per booking.

Paid plan — $1,800.00/mo

No per-booking platform fee at all — keep 100% of the price you set. $14,500.00/yr saves about a third. Upgrade any time from your dashboard.

Separately, every client pays a small processing fee of 4% + $50.00 on top of your price — an honest passthrough of the card-processing cost. They see the full total before they pay; there are no surprise line items at checkout.

6. Share your link

Put your booking link in your social bios, email signature, and WhatsApp. You can also embed the booking widget directly on your own website — grab the snippet from Share your link in the dashboard.

7. Share your Status Kit

Your dashboard's Share tab generates ready-made, on-brand cards sized for WhatsApp Status — no design work needed. Tap once to post, or download and share manually.

  • Book me — your photo, name, and starting price. Always available, front and center the moment you open the tab.
  • This week's availability — shows up automatically whenever you have open slots in the next 7 days, with the real count.
  • Client testimonial — paste a short quote from a happy client (under 200 characters) and it becomes its own shareable card.

Every card includes a caption with your booking link already tagged, so tapping Shareopens your phone's share sheet with the image ready to post straight to Status. On desktop, use Download and Copy caption instead.

A photo helps your cards stand out — add one under Settings and it's used everywhere, including your public page. It's checked automatically to make sure it's a clear headshot before it goes live.

8. Run your sessions

For video-call services, both you and your client join from the built-in call room at the scheduled time — no downloads. We email confirmations when a booking is paid and a reminder 24 hours before. If you use your own meeting link, add it to the booking and the client gets it automatically.

9. Manage & refund bookings

From Bookings you can reschedule (the client is emailed the new time), cancel, or issue a refund. A full refund returns the client's money and reverses the platform fee automatically, so your balance always stays correct. You can also schedule a client in yourself for follow-ups or off-platform arrangements.

10. Withdraw your earnings

Add your bank account under Payouts. Earnings from paid bookings clear one business day after payment, then you can request a withdrawal — verified by a one-time code sent to your email. Your dashboard always shows what's cleared, what's pending, and your net after fees.

11. Grow your practice

Growth happens two ways, and both run without extra effort from you. Actively, your Status Kit cards (step 7) put your booking link in front of everyone who sees your WhatsApp Status. Passively, every page, email, calendar invite, and call carries a subtle Powered by Expert.com.jm link, and clients get a friendly follow-up after each session inviting them to start their own page — so your happy clients help bring you the next ones.

12. Team & reception access

Your account can grow into a team — a barbershop with several barbers, a clinic with several practitioners, a salon with several stylists. Two separate things live under Team in your dashboard, and it's worth keeping them straight:

  • Team membersare the people clients actually book — each with their own name, bio, services, prices, and weekly hours. Your public page gets a “Meet the team” picker so a client chooses a person, then a service, then a time. Payouts and billing always stay with you — a team member never has their own bank account or subscription on the platform.
  • Reception & management access is for whoever answers the phone and manages the calendar — not themselves bookable. A reception account can view, create, reschedule, and cancel bookings for anyone on the team, but never sees pricing, your subscription, or payout/bank details.

Reception access comes in two flavours, and you can mix both under the same team — a front-desk person and an AI agent, side by side:

  • A person gets an email and password and signs into a stripped-down dashboard — just Bookings.
  • An AI agent gets an API key instead of a login — shown once, so save it somewhere safe. Point the agent at /api/agent/* with Authorization: Bearer <key> and it can list services, check availability, and create, reschedule, or cancel bookings — the exact same scope as a human reception login. Refunds are deliberately left out of the agent API; that stays a human, in-dashboard action.

Don't want to wire up the AI agent yourself? There's a ready-made expertapp-receptionist skill — an installable package (via skills.sh, or directly from GitHub) that teaches any tool-calling AI agent — Claude, or otherwise — exactly how to use your Reception API key: checking availability, and creating, rescheduling, or cancelling bookings, with the same guardrails described above.

Adding team members or reception/management access is a paid-plan feature (step 5).
